An introduction to Mrs Louisa Clarke: Leadership Coach
My career started in the Royal Air Force, where I proudly served for a decade and learned to thrive in a male-dominated work environment. In 2004 I received a commendation for my service on that year’s honour's list for outstanding professionalism, sterling efforts, and devotion to duty.
After leaving the military, I started a role as a Contracts Manager at a multi-million-pound facilities company. I didn’t keep that role for long. Determined to succeed, I worked my way up to become the first female operational director and then managing director of the company within a short couple of years.
I was nominated for multiple awards, including winning the ‘ex-forces in business’ Business Leader of the Year 2022. The personal breakthroughs I had during that time felt like the biggest accomplishment though. To thrive in the highly competitive, male-dominated environment I worked in, I had to develop a strong ‘can do’ attitude, learn to push through obstacles, and start to fully believe in myself. The most important lesson I learned was that to get to the top, I had to stop waiting for other people’s permission to be a leader.
Leadership Coaching can be an incredibly powerful development tool, helping individuals to identify their strengths while also acknowledging their areas of development.
I work with individuals to address any issues they feel may be holding them back from reaching their potential – helping the coachee to put into place mechanisms to help them operate more effectively. Coaching can help you further your career by becoming a better leader.
